Partnerships
As an organizing unit within the larger University, the Center has the capacity to build customized interdisciplinary research teams to address a wide range of policy issues.
The Center draws upon distinguished faculty from a wide range of disciplines, including Economics, Political Science, History, Religious Studies, English, Ethnic Studies, and Anthropology. Undergraduate and graduate students in multiple disciplines are also actively recruited to do research with the Center.
The University of California, Riverside is located near several reservations of Cahuilla, Serrano, Chemhuevi, Luiseño, Kumeyaay, Cupeño, and Tongva Indians. The UCR California Center for Native Nations will enhance the relationship between the tribes and the University by fostering programs of crucial importance to the Native Populations and facilitating the expansion of knowledge of the diverse cultures in our region.
